About This Degree
The Master of Arts in Music Education is a fully online program designed for advanced study in music and music education for teachers of music in public and private schools K-12. The program offers preparation leading to: teaching at the university level; and entry into a doctoral program in music education. The culminating activity is a Master’s level thesis.

Requirements for acceptance in the Masters of Arts in Music Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Music
- An entrance exam for satisfactory proficiency in music theory, ear-training, and music history
- A short written essay (250-500 words) describing one’s interest in graduate study in music education. Writing ability will be assessed.
- Admission to graduate study and admission to degree candidacy established by the university.
